Renewed Art Route Zierikzee starts on July 6, more than twenty artists and gallery owners participate

ZIERIKZEE - On Sunday, July 6, the renewed Art Route Zierikzee will have a festive start with an official opening in the Dikke Toren. The route is a collaboration between the Art Route Working Group, Centree and the municipality of Schouwen-Duiveland and was expanded and renewed this spring. More than twenty artists and gallery owners from Zierikzee will participate in the route. There will also be guest exhibitions in Hotel Mondragon and the Dikke Toren.
"This year is different from other years and much more extensive," says Charlotte Beunders, who is part of the working group and participates as an artist. "The festive kick-off starts at 11:30 am and will be performed in the presence of Alderman Van Burgh. Harpist Dorine van Dijk will provide the musical accompaniment with a varied program of four compositions."
During the opening, various demonstrations and presentations will take place in the Dikke Toren. Artist Lara van Rooijen will be showing her ceramic work, including urns, cat figures and floral shapes, with an emphasis on larger work within the route. Merissa van der Wekken, known for her versatile and constantly innovative style, will be making portraits on site. This will also make it an interactive art route.
